A Sri By Any Other Name

For a while now I’ve been considering changing my “brand” as it were, from Sriset Syaine to something else that didn’t include Syaine. I chose the name Sriset Syaine because at the time those were the names of my two mains, my blood elf hunter Sriset and my night elf rogue Syaine. I felt it represented how I played and enjoyed both factions.

I played Syaine quite a bit in Legion and then for the beginning of Battle for Azeroth. But I stopped playing her much when I began focusing on getting characters ready for the Ny’alotha raid, which didn’t include any Alliance toons. I might play Syaine again someday, but for now she’s going to enjoy some rest and relaxation in Val’sharah with her nightborne priest mate Trehvos.

Over the past couple of years I’ve become known more as Sri rather than Sriset Syaine because most of the Warcraft friends I have now first knew me through my hunter Sriset. I’ve since made additional characters with the “Sri” name theme and I felt it was time for my brand/account names to better reflect how I’m known.

To help me pick a new name, I created a poll on Twitter with a few suggestions and the one with the most votes was Srinity. I came up with Srinity because it reminds me of serenity, which is something I’m always seeking and often hoping I help bring to people’s lives somehow. On some of my social media platforms, my account is a variation of Srinity WoW because just Srinity was already taken. Thankfully it wasn’t too difficult to change the names on this blog and on my accounts and I think I’ve got them all fixed now.

I think I’ll be sticking with Srinity or Srinity WoW for the foreseeable future because fellow players have been calling me Sri since I started playing Warcraft on my hunter Sriset in 2008. Srinity is a representation of all things Warcraft related for me and a Sri by any other name…is still Sri. 😉
