With the Death’s Rising pre-patch event finally starting tomorrow (hopefully), we must all prepare for the incoming zombies! I’m not just talking about the undead scourge, I’m talking about us players who might be playing longer and later than usual to suck up all the new content like starved Warcraft vampires. I’ve kept myself busy and have been enjoying leveling up alts with friends but I am definitely one of those vampires craving new content and gear upgrades.
I have a slight idea what to expect tomorrow because I sampled some of the events in PTR. I tried doing the initial scourge/zombie invasion in the major cities but the lag was so bad that the game was unplayable. I’ve read that they’ve toned it down since then and becoming a ghoul is opt in and only if you’re PVP, so I’m hoping the lag isn’t as bad. I might try it out on a couple of my best geared toons like my blood elf paladin and hunter, but I doubt I’ll do it on all of them.

Reading up on the event, it sounds somewhat similar to the Legion pre-patch invasions which were something I really enjoyed and will forever regret not taking screenshots of. You can bet I’ll be taking lots of screenshots this pre-patch though! I want to take lots of pictures so I have memories I can always look back on.
This will be the first pre-patch I’ve done as a member of the Strawberry Friends group, so that will add a new, fun dimension. I don’t know if we’ll be doing any of the pre-patch events together, but I’m sure we’ll be sharing stories and screenshots of what we’re doing and how it’s going. Although we may not be doing all the same stuff at the same time, we’re still going to be together in spirit and I love that!

Needless to say, I’m looking forward to tomorrow’s pre-patch and everything that comes with it. I don’t know how zombie-fied I’ll be in terms of lack of sleep because that depends on how engaging the content is and if I’m playing solo or not. With the sun setting by 5PM where I live now, it’s hard to resist the call of bed and the urge to hibernate. But perhaps fighting the undead and defending Azeroth with friends past my bedtime, I’ll become a happy, only slightly exhausted zombie. 😉
